Opinion This is an ad from McDonald's, which was put in the UK Metro Stations. I feel like this ad focuses on being a general reminder for people to be more aware when they are in public, especially in crowded places. This ad was there not to introduce people to new products since the visual showed their regular pack of fries. McDonald's, as a widely-known brand wanted to make people remember of they're existence, therefore hard selling may not be the main strategy of their ads. Overall, I found this ad to be creative yet beneficial at the same time.
Copy Strategy The copy strategy in this ad used puns, which is a joke exploiting the different possible meanings of a word. The headline was initially intended to remind the metro visitors to beware of pickpockets. Then they decided to add a pun in 'pickpackets' which refers to those packets of McDonalds fries, supported by the clear visual at the right side of the ad. The pun added the fun which may result in a little bit of smile on the audience's face, or even a chuckle.
Reimagined Copy
Body Copy: Don't let them take this packet full of tastiness. We warned you!
