Opinion

This direct mail from Papa John's certainly will get you excited when it arrives at your door (although it doesn't have actual deluxe warm doughy pizza topped with cheese and tomato sauce –yum inside). It comes in a usual pizza delivery box which makes it very stimulating and you just have to open and see what's inside, probably in hoping for an actual pizza, and this box consists of magnetic merchandise in the shape of pan pizza, an invitation to an event recounting their success story, and coupons for your next pizza party, or you might as well have it right now for the thrill of that actual hot pizza ringing the bell of your door.

Copy Strategy

This direct mail is strategized to trigger excitement of receiving a delivered pizza at your place and stimulating appetite with the visual they provide inside the box. Double excitement with the addition of the invitation and the discount vouchers! This direct mail is less likely to hit that trash can.
